In my previous post about the power of giving, I promised to zoom in and give you a look at some of the top givers in 2016. Here we go…… As you’ll see, they are different types of companies. But they all have one things in common: THE REAL GIVING SPIRIT.
It all started when the last one ended in Bali, July 2016. Everyone who came to the very first conference said, “this was the best conference I’ve ever been to.” So…how could we surpass that outcome?
Two B1G1 members recently came up with an idea: "What if B1G1 can inspire more businesses just like TED does, through initiatives run by the business community that believe in a common mission and vision?"
Yes! We have finally reached this long-awaited milestone! As I write this post, our impact counter shows 100,116,667 impacts. This is the result of thousands of businesses and individuals coming together in the last 10 years, sharing their effort and contributions.
Perhaps for you, 2016 seemed to pass so quickly. To me, it feels like it ended just as it started. To us in the B1G1 Community, 2016 was full of great records and exciting new activities. Here are some key highlights.
The B1G1 member get-together we recently hosted in Singapore was a great starting point to think about how to create high-impact boutique networking events to bring together B1G1 Members and Partners in different cities, to do even greater good.
To celebrate the 9th anniversary of the Buy1GIVE1 (B1G1) initiative and the 10th anniversary of its original idea, many B1G1 Businesses from around the world gathered in Bali from the 2nd to 5th July 2016. Many travelled thousands of miles to be there.
We were overwhelmed and touched by the hundreds of smiles we received during the Joy Of Giving Week this year.
Women and children throughout Africa have to walk two hours to get life-saving water and 10km to get to the nearest school. Our empathy and admiration for them served our the inspiration for Joy of Giving week this year.
