HERE’S WHAT HAPPENED TO YOUR SMILES

What's happening Jul 30, 2016

We were overwhelmed and touched by the hundreds of smiles we received during the Joy Of Giving Week this year.

Although we had 2 previous Joy Of Giving Week campaigns in 2013 and 2014 that were fun and exciting, we decided to do something different again this year; something much more than just celebrating our another milestone (B1G1 is 8 this year). We wanted to celebrate the lives of real people around the world that we have had the privilege to work with.

Joy Of Giving Week 2013 – We pumped one balloon for every giving made during the week. Right: Joy Of Giving Week 2014 – We launched Shake The World App that allows you drink water and give water.

And to make it really, really special (and beautifully simple), we decided to ask B1G1 Businesses (businesses that are giving via our initiative) to send us their smiling pictures as they gave to their favourite projects.

The result was astonishing.

The team here were so busy that week, matching every smile photo we received with a smile picture of someone who had been supported by the project activity. And as we did so, we could start to see and feel the real connection, the real joy and the real possibilities of this giving movement. We felt so grateful. We also received so many fantastic comments.

After many days of the matching and posting, we ended up with an amazing collage of beautiful smiles that you can even ‘slide’ interactively to reveal both sides of the wonderful giving impact created through the wonderful contributions being made around the world!

We even had a volunteer video producer to compile all the smiles in a beautiful video footage (just 3 minutes). I hope you’ll enjoy experiencing the feeling of this giving community and spread the joy.

I hope you’ll watch some of the ‘Impact On The Ground’ Session recordings (you can really see how the projects in B1G1 are making a real life-changing impacts).

And thank you for your amazing support for the past 8 years. 100 million smiles, here we come!
