One of the best reasons for integrating giving in our everyday business is that by sharing the fortune we create through our businesses (no matter how small or big), we recognize how lucky we are to be doing what we do.
On behalf of the beneficiaries of the Nepal Disaster Relief project on B1G1, we would like to thank everyone for the tremendous support and care you’ve shown.
I’m writing this post personally and on behalf of the team and the Board of B1G1 Giving to ask for your support. Well, actually, it was many of the B1G1 Partners who asked us first – they wanted to contribute towards the disaster relief of Nepal to help people who are affected.
32 of us are gathered in an upstairs restaurant and function centre in Mumbai. It’s just after 7 p.m. There’s a picture of another restaurant in Mumbai projected on the wall. It’s from 6 evenings ago when we began the 2015 B1G1 Study Tour. Tonight we’re going to re-live those memories.
We’re on the B1G1 Study Tour bus heading north to the rural village of Rajgurunagah. We’ve had fun on the bus as we always do.
One of the hardest things to do is to sum up in just a few words the tremendous exhilaration, impact and connection that goes on during B1G1 Study Tours. The tours take 10 months to plan — there’s so much detail to get right. And then for 5 straight, full-on, amazing days we experience it.
Siem Reap, Cambodia was a consecutive repeat destination for the B1G1 Study Tour. We had such a great and inspiring time during the 2013 Study Tour to Cambodia that we decided to repeat the same destination. The activities, however, were slightly different.
It was the earliest gathering time for (almost) everyone; 5 am! We started the day with the must-do Siem Reap activity.. Watching the Angkor Wat Sunrise! And it was so, so beautiful.
Then maybe a video paints literally thousands. This one certainly does. And it does it in 2 minutes and 22 seconds. It’s called ‘GOOD JOB’ and it tells the story of a day in the lives of 400 children (plus some ‘grown ups’ too).
