In the course of his daily work, Patersons Private Client Advisor Alex Hamilton has given 9,585 people access to clean water, 830 children education support, 112 people medication, and five families a goat to provide them with income.
Alex made the decision, with the support of his clients and Patersons, to link his every day transactions to a worthy cause via Buy1GIVE1, a global giving engine which provides the structure and support to change the world and improve lives across the globe one transaction at a time.
B1G1 moves giving from a guilt driven, ad-hoc model to a very specific transaction-based giving model where every transaction gives back. It empowers thousands of enterprises to make a real difference and angage with clients at a deeper level.
“My clients’ favourite projects are where we give Kenyan families a goat which gives them income and food for a year; providing education and child-protection for young girls in Cambodia and providing access to clean water for villages in Mawali”, Alex said.
“Taking a trading loss is not so hard knowing a family will receive a goat or child will receive clean water, or a young girl can go to school.”
Alex believes his transaction based giving reinforces the Patersons value of building strong client relationships.
“This is the new way of giving—making a real and significant difference just by doing what we normally do—my clients love it, it makes a real difference, and its automatic—incredibly simple.”
