NETWORKING WITH A DIFFERENT PURPOSE

They come together to network, stay fit, as well as give.

Bryce Robb is the owner and founder of Fit 4 Business in Christchurch, New Zealand. While primarily a networking group, Fit 4 Business is designed for people who want to stay fit as well as excel professionally. There are already several branches running throughout the country and Bryce is keen to see more professionals beyond New Zealand pick up the model and start facilitating a branch of their own. The model has also proven popular for those who work from home or are sole traders, as Fit 4 Business is a great way to meet contacts, network and make new, like-minded friends.

Bryce is also the owner of Beaver Tree Service Ltd, and having been in business for a while, he wanted to create a place for business people to meet and discuss ideas and set personal fitness goals along the way. The idea is to share and learn from each other, to have fun and deliver results.

“Fit 4 Business partnered with B1G1 for one simple reason,” Bryce told us. “We had such a good experience and built such a super relationship with B1G1 through our company Beaver Trees, that it was a no brainer to continue the relationship with our latest company, Fit 4 Business. B1G1 helps businesses create a positive impact in the world by helping them support charitable organisations.”

When new members join up, they get to choose what their impact will be, and all of the impacts are based around the concept of supporting children at school through Kids Can and B1G1, whether it’s providing a raincoat for a child or feeding and educating a child for a school term.

“Our members realise the benefits of supporting our younger generations. And we support NZ kids first because they are on our back door. Likewise when we expand Fit4Business into other countries, we will support children there.”

When Fit 4 Business members meet on a weekly basis, they present B1G1 certificates to new members in front of the group, and they read out what impact they’ve chosen to make.

“This creates a real buzz in the room. It gives everyone the feeling that being a member of Fit4Business has a far greater purpose, which is giving back to our communities.”

They end each meeting with a quote from a famous person, such as this comment from Mother Teresa—

“IT’S NOT HOW MUCH WE GIVE, BUT HOW MUCH LOVE WE PUT INTO GIVING.”
