WHERE: Brisbane, Australia
WHAT:When we have a problem that we have not been able to release, we find ourselves repeating lessons and patterns that no longer serve a positive purpose. If we hold onto these issues we get stuck in a revolving pattern and find it difficult to do what we want to do, and to be who we want to be. We often want to change, but no matter how hard we try, it just stays the same. Balance Central works with and releases the energy holding these patterns in place allowing you to break free and move forward.
CAN YOU GIVE US A SENSE OF WHY YOU DECIDED TO START GIVING?
I decided many years ago that when I was in a financial position to give I would find a way. Luckily for me, B1G1 gave me the opportunity to be a small business owner and yet be able to contribute to the world in a significant way.
WHAT ARE YOUR FAVOURITE PROJECT(S) TO GIVE TO AND WHY?
My favorite project is providing education or a facility to educate children. They are the future and they need as much knowledge and empowerment as possible.
HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE THE IMPACT B1G1 HAS HAD ON YOUR COMPANY AND ITS CULTURE?
B1G1 has been a constant part of my business and infiltrates every transaction – from connecting on social media to purchasing programs to presentations I give. B1G1 has provided a structure for me to give back in meaningful ways.
WHAT’S THE BEST EXPERIENCE YOU’VE HAD THROUGH YOUR GIVING ACTIVITIES AND BEING A PART OF B1G1?
My best experience was the surprise nomination of Overall Impact in 2016 (at the B1G1 Business for Good Conference). I had always given regularly – but to find out that I was one of the top 5 in the overall impact was mind blowing. To think that 1 person could make such a difference in the world – this still amazes me.
DOES ANYBODY IN YOUR TEAM HAVE AN INTERESTING GIVING STORY TO SHARE?
I have always given on a monthly basis – but the most interesting and most powerful giving has only happened recently. Instead of giving monthly – which requires me to check the numbers of what I have sold etc. I now give at the end of every day – I know have a personal giving connection to every activity.
WHAT QUESTION WOULD YOU WISH THAT WE’D ASKED AND WHAT WOULD BE YOUR ANSWER?
Q: Why should others be part of B1G1?
A: Being part of B1G1 provides encouragement to give, in anyway you can, on a global scale. This is vital because as humans, we need to be able to give outside of our selves, outside of our own family and outside of our own community. The world needs what we can give and B1G1 provides that opportunity
