B1G1 is the First Business giving App on Zapier

B1G1 was founded on a very important and visionary what-if: “What if every business owner could change lives every day just by doing what they do?”

As early as 2007, we launched Giving Stories (now known as Recurring Impacts) to allow B1G1 Business Members to link their business activities with high-impact giving to a project. Traditionally, giving through these Stories meant that you had to manually count the number of products sold, clients created, or projects completed each period when you do your giving.

But there’s a much faster and smarter way to do your giving now.

INTRODUCING THE B1G1 INTEGRATION ON ZAPIER

We are excited to share with you a powerful new way of automating these Giving Stories: via Zapier.

Zapier is an online automation tool that allows you to create code-free, automated workflows (called Zaps) that connect apps you use every day. If you are an existing Zapier user, you can already link 1,500+ apps – including MailChimp, Xero, Quickbooks, InfusionSoft, Autotask, PipeDrive and many more – to B1G1’s Giving Stories.

The B1G1 integration is now publicly available on Zapier – click here to get started.

Once you’ve set up the Zaps between your business apps and B1G1, whenever your specified activity occurs on the apps, your Giving Stories will be automagically added to the Giving Cart.

Thereafter, all that’s left to do is log in to B1G1 regularly, head to your Giving Cart, and check out. :)

HOW FORERUNNERS IN THE B1G1 COMMUNITY ARE AUTOMATING THEIR GIVING

To make it really easy for everyone to get started, we’ve involved a few tech-savvy members in creating their own B1G1 Zaps (or more affectionately known as Giving Zaps) and they have generously shared examples of what they’ve done:

GIVE AUTOMATICALLY WHENEVER AN INVOICE GETS PAID

Mike Wick of Message on Hold, an on-hold marketing service that serves businesses in all industries throughout America, uses B1G1 and Zapier to automate their giving whenever they receive a new payment.

This is Message on Hold’s Giving Story:

Whenever a client makes a payment and it is received in their invoicing app (Quickbooks), Zapier adds the above Giving Story to their B1G1 Giving Cart. In Zapier terms, the payment is the Trigger that leads to the Action of adding a Giving Story to the Cart.

GIVE AUTOMATICALLY THROUGHOUT THE CUSTOMER JOURNEY

You can embed giving into many other touchpoints in the customer journey too. For example, Monty Hooke of The Exponential – an outsourcing company that’s now geared towards scaling a global business and leaving a legacy of positive impact with all the businesses they work with – gives every time they get a new prospective client, every time they complete an important task for their clients, and even every time Monty posts something on Instagram.

To automate these Giving Stories, Monty created Zaps using Triggers from GetResponse, PipeDrive, and Instagram and connected them with B1G1’s Action to add a Giving Story to the Cart. The possibilities are endless.

GIVE AUTOMATICALLY WHENEVER SOMEONE GIVES TO YOUR GIVING CAMPAIGN

You can also do more than automating your Giving Stories. David Keith of Collins Hume, an accounting firm in Ballina that seeks to inspire business owners to achieve success in meaningful ways, designed a Zap that adds a giving to their Cart whenever somebody gives on Collins Hume’s B1G1 Giving Campaign. This is possible by using the New Campaign Giving Trigger and the Add Favourite Project to Cart Action.
