Sustainability Meets Action – GoRental and B1G1 at F1 Singapore

A Spotlight on Impact Beyond Power

During the electrifying buzz of Singapore’s F1 week, where speed and excitement collide, a quieter but equally powerful story was unfolding.

At an exhibition alongside the main F1 event, we had the pleasure of visiting GoRental, a business deeply committed to sustainability, founded and led by Colin Peh. Accompanied by Ashton Chia, a key leader in the team, Colin welcomed us into their booth with enthusiasm and purpose.

What stood out immediately was a simple yet impactful gesture: a lovely notice about B1G1 giving impact. GoRental had decided to integrate giving into their exhibition booth in a meaningful way—every time someone scanned a QR code at their booth, they contributed to an environmental and sustainability project in B1G1. Not only were visitors learning about GoRental's groundbreaking solutions, but they were actively contributing to making a positive difference in the world.

GoRental: Powering Sustainability at Scale

At its core, GoRental provides highly powerful, portable solar-charged batteries. These innovative solutions can power large-scale events—like F1 in Singapore—while also being versatile enough for outdoor activities such as camping or festivals. Remarkably, GoRental’s batteries can be fully solar-charged within just a few hours and provide sustainable energy solutions to everything from cooling systems to campsite lighting.

Here’s a staggering fact: More than half of the outer exhibition event space around the F1 Singapore was powered by GoRental's sustainable energy solutions this year. Events of this scale are notoriously energy-intensive, but GoRental’s work has set a new standard for how global gatherings can reduce carbon footprints without sacrificing performance.

Beyond Business: Adding Layers of Impact

For GoRental, sustainability doesn’t end with their core product. While their primary focus is reducing carbon emissions and energy waste, they believe businesses can—and should—do more. By partnering with B1G1, GoRental has added an extra layer of impact to their operations.

Their leadership team recognizes that while their batteries directly address energy sustainability, other pressing environmental and humanitarian challenges require attention.

This belief has led them to integrate purposeful giving opportunities into their events. It’s a beautiful example of how businesses can amplify their impact by seamlessly combining their offerings with initiatives that make a global difference.

From events like the large-scale Marathon races to local cultural celebrations, GoRental’s solutions are now in high demand. Colin shared with us too how the team has become more selective about the events they support, ensuring they partner with clients who align with their mission of sustainability and positive impact.

A Team That Steps Up in Times of Need

The story of GoRental’s commitment to making a difference extends beyond planned events. When a devastating hurricane struck the U.S. earlier this year, B1G1 reached out to Members to support emergency relief projects. GoRental was one of the first to respond, asking if they can offer their batteries to assist those in need as well.

This gesture powerfully reflects their values—it’s not just about doing ‘one good thing’ but about tuning into opportunities to make a greater difference at the right time.

Whether it’s providing sustainable energy solutions, supporting global causes, or responding in times of crisis, GoRental embodies what it means to be a business for good.

Every Action—Big or Small—Counts

Our visit to GoRental’s booth wasn’t just about discovering their solutions; it was about experiencing their ethos in action.

In addition to showcasing their cutting-edge technology, their team actively participated in folding paper cranes—a symbol of hope for children in Ukraine. These cranes, sent with well wishes, became part of the larger message I carried on my recent journey to Ukraine, where every small act contributes to a larger, shared vision of peace and sustainability.

It’s moments like these that remind us: Every little act makes a difference. Whether it’s a business powering a global event or individuals folding paper cranes, each step contributes to a more sustainable, more compassionate world.

Global Events as Catalysts for Change

The F1 event in Singapore is a prime example of how mass participation events can become powerful platforms for change. By integrating giving into their booth, GoRental not only inspired visitors to take part in positive actions but also demonstrated how businesses can lead by example. Imagine the possibilities of global events around the world—sports championships, music festivals, tennis championships (every ace gets children in need access to life-saving water) and cultural celebrations—adopted similar models.

It’s not a dream. With businesses like GoRental paving the way, it’s a very real possibility. Events could become more sustainable, visitors could actively participate in creating a positive impact, and together, we could accelerate progress toward a more sustainable world.

A Shared Future of Impact

We left GoRental’s booth feeling inspired—by their vision, their leadership, and their unwavering commitment to making a difference. Businesses like GoRental are proof that when sustainability and purpose align, extraordinary things happen.

Since joining B1G1 in June this year, GoRental has created 27,999 impacts, supporting projects focused on environmental impacts and life enhancements.

Looking ahead, we are excited about the potential to do even more together. From powering large-scale events to supporting emergency relief and environmental projects, GoRental is leading the way in showing how businesses can amplify their impact.

To Colin, Ashton, and the entire GoRental team: thank you for your passion, your innovation, and your belief in creating a better world. Here’s to powering more events, more actions, and more positive change—together.
