Codestone’s Journey of Purpose: From Code to Human-ness
When you think of technology, the first images that come to mind are often streams of code, algorithms, agents and systems.
But at Codestone, a digital transformation firm of nearly 300 people across eight countries, it’s a different picture and a very different story.
Codestone’s story begins — and ends — with people.
The company has built an enviable reputation for bringing powerful, transformative tools to enterprise customers worldwide.
Yet, as Chief Executive Darryl Sackett explains, their true foundation isn’t just in technology.
We’re a Business for Good. We’re a business with purpose. And our partnership with B1G1 is fundamental to what we do. It’s a very strong cultural thread.
When you visit the Codestone offices in London (as we did just recently) you see that cultural thread everywhere.
Culture Matters More Than Ever
Cherin Elliott, Codestone’s People and Culture Director, describes how B1G1 is embedded into the very fabric of their team.
Every time someone is recognized or rewarded, it sparks a giving moment. When new client initiatives are launched or renewals come through, those milestones too are marked with tangible global impacts. Even the small, everyday wins—those seemingly simple achievements—are seen as opportunities to ripple good into the world.
As Cherin puts it, “You can make the smallest of impacts and bring a smile to someone’s face.”
It’s this seamless integration — linking moments of business success with impacts around the globe — that fuels Codestone’s underlying (and growing) culture of purpose.
And the team really feels it. As one team member expressed, “The most inspiring part of having B1G1 integrated into the culture is that it’s not about money; it’s about outcomes.”
We saw clearly too how the team feels great about being able to choose impacts that matter to them personally and then see those impacts become real — making a measurable difference in high-impact projects around the globe.
Others spoke about how the B1G1 Movement’s ‘Power of Small’ focus is reshaping the way they view their work.
A contract renewal, a report delivered on time, even data correctly entered into a system — these small acts now take on new meaning when they’re connected to life-changing impacts in the world.
But what’s even more evident in our close encounter with Codestone’s leadership team is the genuine intent of WHY they choose to integrate something like this into their everyday business.
Darryl Sackett noted that, “Although the gap in equity across the world feels big, it’s something we can close quickly. When we come together, we’re simply more powerful.”
Human Powered Tech - Much More Than Codes
As you’d expect, Codestone’s leadership knows technology is the enabler. But what makes their story stand out is how they never lose sight of what truly matters — staying human, connecting, supporting, and even celebrating together.
As Mark Ames, Codestone’s Chief Operating Officer, put it: “The reason I go to work in the morning is to improve lives and change lives.”
And that’s exactly what Codestone is doing.
They transform the outcome of their clients by bringing better systems and processes while making contributions to uplift the global population.
As you’ll see in the video, not only are they writing code and building great systems, they are rewriting history and building a lasting legacy.
And we hope you will choose to join the Movement of businesses making a real difference.
Because together, we really can transform our world.
