A CONVERSATION THAT MATTERS WITH ALF MAGNANO

In our very first ‘Conversation that Matters’, we had the pleasure of speaking with B1G1 Lifetime Partner, Alf Magnano from CP Partners. CP Partners is an accounting firm based in Melbourne, Australia. They joined B1G1 in 2010.

Although Alf started the Conversation that Matters by confessing that he was nervous, you could feel that Alf is really passionate about what he does at CP Partners. Part of that includes helping clients do tax planning, which gives clients, as Alf put it:  “the opportunity before the end of the year to decide on an action which would have a significant impact on their tax position”. The focus of CP Partners is however mainly on business planning, and this is what makes them different from what we might call ‘normal’  accounting firms.

Something special happening at CP Partners is their “One Page Plan” workshop, where they get clients to list down one or two key things that need to be done in the next 90 days in order to achieve their goals.

Alf mentioned that this is particularly important because most of the time, people seem to have too many things to do but eventually, at the end of the day, they don't really achieve much.

During the interview, Alf also revealed their goal of impacting 5 million lives. Despite sounding outrageous, they are making it possible through their partnership with B1G1. At the end of the interview, Alf said something that underscores the real essence of B1G1. He expressed it like this:

Behind every giving, what resonates for me, is an actual life. That's what's important – that we are able to touch people's lives, that we know, we can never do anything for us. Yet, we've got the power, with every small amounts, to be able to impact their lives. And we get to do that by impacting the lives of the clients we work with. It all comes together. That's the beauty of being involved with B1G1. That's just awesome.
